Hazzard Flasher Problem

Hello i have owned my Chev for over a year now and havent really used my hazard flashers exept for occasional testing. Until the other day i was stopped at the side of the road with the 4-ways on and as soon as i put my foot on the brake pedal they stopped flashing and stayed on. Both green arrows stayed on and all signal lights outside of the truck stayed on until i took my foot off the pedal then they started to flash again. It is a new flasher unit i put in about 4 months ago. Has anyone heard of this problem? could it be shorting somewhere? Any tips are appreciated. Thank you.

They are supposed to do that. State law requires that the brake lights take presidence over the four way flashers. Your system is working as it should be.
