Here are some pictures of what I currently drive. Its a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic. These pics aren't the best but they give a good idea what the truck looks. Still to be added to the truck are a split rear exhaust system, rear-view camera, and some custom work on the interior to make it a breeze to clean out =) Hope you guys enjoy the pics even if they aren't the best... I'll have ones taken with a real camera and not a cell phone when I complete all the work on her.

Great looking truck. I had an opportunity to buy an 07 Silverado Classic 4x4 RCSB LS with a 5.3 and 13,000 miles for a ridiculous price, and I passed. I kick myself every day for that.

yeah i am not a fan of RCSB. i love RCLBs and that ones pretty nice. what do you use that winch for? do you do any offroading?

The winch is mostly to save myself when i do something stupid. Last christmas l lodged myself in a snowbank and it sure beat digging myself out... I also do a lot of trail driving in mountain terrain year round to get to fishing spots, hiking trailheads, etc... and I have discovered while it is fairly easy getting into some of these places, getting out of them is a whole different story. Occasionally I will be a nice guy and help pull someone outta the ditch or something during winter (I love watching all the out-of-state college kids that have never seen snow before try to drive thru it =D). It also comes in handy when needing to get non-running vehicles up onto trailers.

Speaking of winches, I recently saw one on an M813 Army 6X6 truck. It is a PTO powered mechanical winch, 20,000 lbs capacity (this means actual 20,000 lbs pull, not pulling a 20,000 lbs vehicle on wheels). The wire rope on that thing was about 5/8 to 3/4 inch in diameter. This truck weighs about 25,000 lbs empty and it is powered by a 855 cu in, 6 cylinder Cummins diesel. The engine alone weighs 3,000 lbs. It takes four large 12 Volt batteries to start that thing (2 in series, and then those two banks in parallel for 24 Volts). The differentials on that truck were huge - like those on a large Mack dump truck. I believe that these are the axles they like to use on monster pickup trucks like the Bigfoot.

The cable isn't all that taught... pulsed the power and let the motors momentum carry it up. Do you have yours rolled all the way back to the lead? Just curious. The Trans4Mer is a pretty nice set-up I would have to say. Nice refined look about it with a little extra protection. Worth every penny I spent on that front end.

yea, i pulse the power until it gets close to the fairlead, the hook only rattles when your going over bumpy terrain

Yea thats trans4mer is a pretty dam solid setup, you should have no trouble taking out deer or zombies with it

I got mine used from a fella who was selling was truck, we had to get some extra parts, but we saved alot of money buying it used as opposed to new.

Have you seen any trans4mers with the lights on them?

No, never actually seen them with the auxiliary lights. I know there exists many options like that but even just the low beams on my truck are so intensely bright I never even considered getting them... Its actually kinda funny how many times people flash their brights at me during the night when just my low beams are on... the high beams are just frighteningly bright... good way to scorch the retinas off someone who pisses you off. You should consider getting the brush guards to help protect your lens covers from getting beat up. They are fairly pricey replacements if they get damaged and you cant find a junk one...
