If you want to keep it, pay it off and add fog lights!

You know the history of the truck and any issues that it has

My thought is, if you like driving the truck, keep it. Sometimes a newer truck may not satisfy you as much as your old one. I still love my '00 Silverado with 160,000 miles on it. These trucks last a long time---well built and well designed.

I would keep it. I don't see any reason in gettin one 3-4 years newer that is the same body style. If you like the one you have why get rid of it. It only has 33,000 miles on it, that truck is just getting broke in.

Buyouts are always a bad deal. Residual value on a lease is artificially high to make monthly payments cheap. Another person can buy it 3-5k cheaper than you when it is on the lot.

If you were to try and buy this same model truck with the same mileage, would it cost more than what your payoff is? If the answer is no, it is a good deal. If you take 20k and put it down on a new truck, you will still have a car payment where as if you pay off our existing truck, it is yours free and clear. It is not true that buyouts are always a bad deal, different lenders use different residual values. Like Mato said, you know the history of this truck, there is value in that. FYI, I am in F&I at a car dealership, so I deal with these daily. It really just comes down to "Do I want a new truck?"

that goes for the GMT800's. :fume:

it all depends how much you like your truck, if you are sick of or dont like the 5.3 or the EXT cab doors or the color, get rid of it and get a truck you want if you have the money.

Id say buy it out as long as they arnt screwing you on the buyout price. You will be clear of a truck payment for the next few years at least. Bank the extra money for those couple years and then you will have a nice downpayment plus trade in on your next new vehicle.
