2001 1500hd 6.0l Wich Cats/resonators Can I Delete Before Cel Will Com

I have a 2001 silverado K1500HD with the 6.0/auto

 

 

Get some knocking/tinny sound coming from my catylitic/resonator (its the one on the passenger side that is about as round a 2litre pop bottle.

 

Need to know what I can Delete on my exhaust sytem before throwing a CEL. I don't have any emmisions testing were I live so its game on as for that.

 

What cat's/resonators can I sub out with a straight pipe.

If the CATs don't have 02 sensors after them or on them, then you can likely get away with removing them without a CEL flagging.

Took her into the muffler shop after work.

Massive rattle actually in the muffler.

Hit the cats with a rubber mallot and they are all perfect.

Both cats have 02 sensors going to them.

 

Next think will be to diagnose the first acceleration in the morning being kinda of a lul and nothing being there. I guess I can live with that though. Just glad its not my bottom end exploding.
