My buddy is looking into tires and is wondering.

Will 315/75/16's fit on a 05 2500 with 2" lift from torsion keys? or are 305/70/16's the biggest taht would fit?

My uncle has 315/75/16's on his dmax and they fit fine. I think he trimmed the lower valence on the from because he hit it in reverse but it's no big deal.

My dad is stepping up to 315's next go around on his tires. There are TONS of room in those wheel wells on the dmax's.

Are they running stock rims? I did some googling after I had posted and read that the rims are wide enough to safely run that wide of a tire. The logic sounds but not to sure. My buddy uses his Dmax for plowing and does alot of highway km's. He's worried about steering stability and popping a bead while plowing.

Off-topic but do you have a pic with your truck with the KM2's? I'm buying new tires soon and that is one of my options.

Wheel well room is no differant on the D-Max then any other 3/4 or 1/2 ton truck the fenders and wells are the same.

Yeah they are running stock rims. My uncle pulled a mini-excavator through a swamp and never had any problems, nor has he had any problems with the tire popping off. He also has driven alot of miles on her and we usually take it duck hunting which is a fair amount of driving. Here are pictures of my truck with the tires: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...6&hl=sab316

I'm saying Duramax as far as the 2500's go. Just a habit of mine. But there is ALOT of difference in room in the wheel wells between a 2500 and a 1500. Go look at a 2500 (or duramax) running a 285/75/16 and then a 1500 running the same and look at the difference in the space in there. And of course make sure its the same body style truck.

One of the main reasons the 2500's (Dmax) can run 35's with no trimming, on stock rims. Where a 1500 can't without significant trimming or a lift. Plus the 2500's sit higher than 1500's.
