Door Lock Assembly

Hello...Been a lurker and now a new 2010 GMC Sierra owner. I'm interested in having an aftermarket keyless entry/doorlock system installed. The shop asked me whether the door locks are operated with a cable or rod.

I know all the previous generations are rod but how about the GMT-900? The Haynes manual shows a rod but I saw a cable mentioned on the parts list for lock assembly.

 

Could someone who's had the panels removed clear this up for me?

Here are some pics of the new ride. So far I've done tint, mud flaps, dic, chrome mirror covers, Line-x, rail covers, aluminium wheels, and leather wheel with radio controls. Not bad for a little work truck. I've almost got it how I want it. Probably going to drop the tail with some 2" shackles down the road.
