Questions About Installing An Aftermarket H/u

Hello, this is my first post here. I have a 2009 Sierra regular cab that I am wanting to put an aftermarket, single-din H/U in. I am putting a Pioneer deh-p880prs in to replace it, along with assorted amps and speakers. I have a single-disc cd, onstar, and xm from the factory. I do not think it is a bose system. I do not care to keep the onstar since I am not renewing. I also don't care about door chimes and turn-signal clicking, either. I wouldn't mind keeping the RAP feature, but it's not necessary if it requires a $75 module. I need to know the wire harness adapter(s) I need to get the job done. I have been reading posts for days (weeks really) and I can't seem to find the specific info I want. I also need a single-din dash kit, so recomendations there would be helpful. Thanks for your help in advance.

Go to PAC, Metra, or Scosche to find the model number of the adapter you will need, then go to the internet and search for it cheaper. The module is not $75, but closer to $150 retail.

Spend the money and do the install correctly IMO.

i agree you'll realize that you really hate not having the RAP, also should a check engine light or warning light turn on and you're not paying attention you wont get the chimes from anything... and to be honest im not sure if anyone makes wiring kits that delete the onstar and everything anymore since all gm vehicles have it.

Ok, so I should get the module and do it right, which one is the best? From what I have read so far, the scosche one leaves a bit to be desired, the metra one is ok, and the pac seems the best. Would this be a fair statement? I appreciate the help so far, thanks.

If you have not bought your headunit yet, buy it at crutchfield.com...the module will be half price and you will also get a metra install kit (as well as other stuff) for free. This makes the "somewhat over priced" crutchfield site your best value IMO.
