Very true,Thats what I try and tell people...no car company is perfect,But its funny though cause I had a customer in here just the other day saying how Toyota was the greatest car company, and they built "perfect cars" Meanwhile he pulled out of here in his new Silverado

Well... Rich.

ANYBODY who believes that ANY carmaker makes perfect cars is simply not worth listening to anyway. I dismiss them and add them to my dumbass file.

True.... Unfortunately my dumb-ass file is full!:angel:

It doesn't look like it's going to stop for them at this point. Every few months, it seems like another vehicle is being recalled.

Thats why I laugh when something like this happens to Toyota, because their followers brag them up so much.

Yeah, I actually like to see recalls. Because everything made in a factory is going to have flaws occasionally, and if they are fixing the problems and taking care of the vehicles/customers that is good. As for Toyota I don't see why all the hype right now. Sure they make some great vehicles, but everybody wants to act like they beat all the competition right now just because of their sales. I'm not so sure about all that...

I'm no defender of Toyota.

Everybody has recalls, but the media is certainly making sure that any by Toyota are front and center. Funny how they turn on you. Toyota used to be the media darlings. GM has recalled millions of vehicles in 2010 as well but luckily WE are not the current media target.

Naah. The truth is that when it comes to recalls, they all have em, but Crapota is in the spotlight because well, everyone expected better of em and they under-delivered. I welcome the negative publicity Crapota gets. Your better off driving a "Government Motors" vehicle then you are a Crapota it seems.

That sure as hell won't be me.

Toyota deserves their bad publicity right now. They tried to coast along on their reputation while their product line began to suffer. Think that won't come back to bite you? As GM or Ford about the 80s!

Not really.

Over 1,800 people were killed in fire crashes involving GM trucks from 1973 through 2000 because of the gas tanks before they did a recall. It was a matter of PENNIES to fix the (known) problem at the factory before shipping...Yet they kept putting them out that way.

Who's to say that they aren't doing that about something else right now? Hell...The engine covers on the 04-06 GTO will rub a hole in the fuel line and turn you into a mach III turbofire of DOOOOOM. If you complain, they take your engine cover off. No recall that I know of, and if you don't complain, they'll never tell you about it.

I'm curious where you get your info from?

I'm not aware of any fire problems on 1973-2000 models. Chevy trucks from 73-87 had tanks outside of the frame rail and were subject to a lawsuit..... certainly not pennies to fix.........
