Power Mirror Swap Out

I had a 2003 Chevy Suburban 1500 series 5.3 motor 4x4 that had the power fold mirror with heat, signal, curb assist, etc. I sold the 2003 1500 Suburban and bought a 2003 2500 series 6.0 motor Suburban 4x4 with the Accordion Style power tow mirrors. These mirrors had the heat and siginal etc.w/o the curb assist option. I liked the power fold mirror with the curb assist option the best so I purchased a new set to go the 3/4 ton Suburban. I installed these on my Suburban and everything worked as it should, except the curb assist option.

I have read in the GM forums that you have to take your truck to the GM dealer to have your mirrors reflashed (reprogramed) for them to work properly. I took my Suburban to the GM Dealer and had my mirrors programed from the "DPF" to the "DL3" program for this type mirror. I pay my bill, $112.00, and go to my Suburban to make sure everything works as it should. My mirrors worked just as before, except now instead of having to hold the button down to make my mirrors fold in or out, I just have to touch the button and they fold in or out auto. BUT STILL NO Curb Assist. This was why I took my Suburban to the Dealer, to begin with. So now I go back in to the Service Dept. and make my complaint about the Curb Assist not working. They tell me that my Suburban is not set up for that option ??!! I thought that taking the Suburban to the Dealer and having my Mirrors reprogramed I would have that option, but according to the Service Tech. the 2003 2500 Series Suburban did not have this feature. According to the window sticker from the1500 Suburban and the 2500 Suburban they both had the same mirrors, and at factory, the 2500 Suburban got the power tow mirror and the 1500 got the power fold mirror w/curb assist.

My Question: Can I add the Curb Assist Option to my 2003, 2500 Suburban. According to the GM Service Dept. it can not be added to the 2003 2500 series Suburban. But can be added to the 2003 1500 series Suburban. I just can't believe that it can't be added to the 3/4 ton Suburban. In one forum I read someone replaced their power fold mirror for the power tow mirror and for their mirror to work properly they had to take it to the GM dealer for reprograming and the GM Service Tech. had to "DELETE" the curb assist option. So if the GM Service Dept. can delete an option, why cant they install this option ???

Can someone please answer my question. Or tell me how to get the Curb Assist program installed on my 2003 2500 Suburban!! Sorry this post is so long. But after spending close to a thousand dollars for the mirrors and another $112.00 for the "reflash" i'm kinda upset, to say the least.

I just swapped in DL3 mirrors for the original DPF mirrors on my 2005 Yukon XL w/quadrasteer. I can select the curb assist options (none, passenger or both) in the driver's information center but it doesn't work with the DL3 mirrors and didn't work with the DPF mirrors. The power folding does work but it's manual and you have to be sure the mirror glass isn't sticking out of the mirror body at the inside edge or it won't completely fold. It sounds like programming will take care of the automatic fold option. I'm wondering if the existence of the curb assist selection in the DIC means that it can be programmed to do that as well.
