Adding Heated Washer Fluid

Hasn't GM pretty well pulled the plug on the heated washer fluid setup? There's talk elsewhere of owners w/ it getting a $100 cheque to remove the set up from their vehicle. I doubt they'd be selling the parts thru SPO.

Alphatherm sells the updated OEM style heater, that plugs directly into a vehicle that had the OEM washer installed.

If you look at the firewall, under the hood, (right in front of the driver), there would be a giant power plug with some heavy gauge wires, as well as a smaller plug with about 6 control wires. If you have that, then it would be wired already, and you could get it from Alphatherm.

this sounds like an awesome feature to have

especially if you live in northern Alberta, and -50 is nothing out of the ordinary.

I just checked, and my 08 is lacking both the heated wash button on the console, and the connections on the firewall

Yes my 2008 LT had it but it was removed as per the recall and i got my crisp $100 from the dealer

when the dealer did the recall, did they remove the button from your console?

or just rip out the wiring & connectors?

Are they all per-wired for the heated washer setup? Could I just order the aftermarket unit and get the dash switch or is there more to it?

much more to it including the wiring that is not in the truck.

they are not supposed to remove the button or the wiring just simply remove the unit.

right on.. guess my vehicle never came with it to begin with.

That sucks, this mod would be pretty damn usefull out here in the mac

I bought the kit from the company (Microheat) that supplied GM. I had it in my Ddge Ram with no issues but am a bit gunshy about installing it on my 11 Silverado

confused here; you have a kit that works in the 2011 chevy? please explain because the trucks are no longer equipped for it.
