Ways To Tell If An 07+ Has Side Curtain Airbags?

I've been window shopping for a new (to me) truck, and most ads I've seen online never mention if they have side curtain airbags. I figure the average Joe doesn't care. I want to have them in my next truck. What are the telltale signs on an 07+ that it has the side curtain airbags? For example, a special logo on the A-pillars, or differently shaped A-pillars, or a specific option that every side curtain airbag equipped truck would have?

 

I think the 2010 model year has them standard, but I'm not really looking to get something so new.

At the top of each side pillar, you'll see the word "airbag" right on the headliner.

There is a clear/visible mark on the panels that have airbags behind them. If you don't see it, they don't have it.

 

They're made to be noticeable to prevent damage or accidental activation from someone taking the panels off (like to run wiring)

Thanks guys. The "AIRBAG" label, I guess it's too small/subtle to see in pics? I see what looks like a place for a label or something close to the bottom of the A-pillar in pics, but it looks like all trucks have that.

Its not really a label or decal,Rather its a silk-screened logo on the headliner above each pillar as mc7719 said.

Also if you post me the last 8 digits of any VIN I can run it and find out if it has side air bags,for the '07-08 model year on ext. and crew-cabs they were only available as part of the safety package,which also included adjustable pedals and rear park assist.

I think the silk-screening would be very difficult to spot in pics. However, rear park assist should be very easy to spot. Could you get rear park assist without side curtains in 07-08?

Yes on the GMC's you could....the GMC's included the Power Pedals, and Backup Sensors in the Convenience Package...the Side Curtain Airbags were a "freeflow" option if I remember right unless you were getting a Sierra Denali.

My 07 GMC has side airbags and no park assist or adjustable pedals. I would never have known any difference if not posted here. I was just glad to see them in the truck.

Makes sense,Chevrolet and GMC always group their options differently (which make it tough when you work at a place that sells both Chevrolet's and GMC's!) I know on the Chevrolet's they were only available as part of the "Safety Package" (RPO "PCW") which also included the power pedals and rear park assist (for '09-'10 it also includes rear defogger) they were not available as a "free-flow" option.

Also the RPO code for head curtain side air bags is "ASF",not only is head curtain side air bags standard for '10,but so is seat-mounted side-impact air bags as well (RPO "AJ7")
