What Size Muffler To Get?

i wanna put a muffler on my 06. ive been doing alot of searching through here and so far magnaflow and corsa seems to be the way to go. i may end up with a magnaflow, having one in the past on a car i know how smooth of a sound they have and id like to retain a light tone at lower engine speeds and something a bit more noticeable at higher rpms. so my question is, what size muffler do i look for? inlet and outlet size? body length? i have no idea what to shop for so any help would be great.

I love my Flowmaster 50 series 3" in/3" out. Great Sound, not too loud.

i had a 40 series on my car and i loved it too, sounded fantastic. but people on here are saying the flowmaster is actually causing them to loose torque and costs some fuel economy. which makes no sense but every vehicle is different. ive seen a flowmaster on a rock buggy that had been bashed off rocks and looked like the inside of a cats ass and it didnt leak and still sounded great.

oh man a 40 series would be loud on this thing, haha. i remember how loud the 40 series was on my car breating through a 3 inch exhaust. and that thing had half the cylinders the truck has, lol. thanks for the help on the sizing.

truck sounds good. im in no rush for a muffler but im sure ill get one soon as im impulsive like that. worse than a little kid i tell yah. haha.

 

10 series what the hell is it on? and how loud is it? lol. is there any chambering to it at all or just one big hollow canister? lol

It is on my truck.. and Yes it is loud. I like it straight pipe loud but hate crackle. This has the true flowmaster sound, no crappy crackle, and it is as loud as flowmaster makes.
