Ive seen the electric steps on a few trucks, they are bad ass. They are pretty expensive too. My question is, what problems do they have? Do they last? I would like to get some for my Tahoe to give it a better look. The running boards that are on it now are bulky and take away from its stance.

They are expensive and I've not seen to many people with them on this site. I'd say the price is what deters people from getting them. They are cool though.

I have a friend with a Ford Expedition 4x4 that had them, though they are cool, he got them hung up rock climbing in his Expo, and bent the hell out of one, and of course it jammed and wouldn't release and the motor burned up and started smoking when he got out of the truck..

now it saved actual damage to the truck, but caused a big mess trying to remove them after they got bent, though I suspect any step rail would have had similar issues under the same circumstances, only difference here was dealing with the eletrical problems they caused after the fact.

I wish they weren't so expensive. I would do it. :uhoh: People are always complaining about having to 'jump' in to my truck. I don't like the regular steps, but I would do something that tucks under. Or I can just continue to laugh at people trying to 'jump' in to my truck. LOL

Thats why I still have the stock running boards. My wife cant get in the truck without them. Shes only five feet tall. Other people grunt when they get in, like there 1000 lbs or something :uhoh:. They swear Its 10 feet off the ground. To keep the miles off my wifes car we just take mine everywhere. So the stokes must stay. For now anyway...
