Grill Guard In The Wintry North

Ok so I'd like some advice from northerners. We'll be in north Idaho all winter this year and I've added a Westin full front grill bar since my last stay there. I remember all the snow & ice buildup that the truck would get outside and I was mostly worried about that.

 

Are there any concerns I should have about having it installed? Because I could remove it before the trip...

Pro's - con's?

As with the rest of the truck, a good heavy coat of wax and wash the vehicle when it gets warm out. Only issue I've had in the past was ice build-up on the headlight protectors. Easily taken care of with a snow brush.

My concern with Grill Guards is the headlight protectors.. don't they interfere with the beam from the headlights?

Thanks guys, I've got the truck polish & wax out of the way. I suppose I'll leave it on for the trip.
