can i get a part number for the digital dualzone controls. i have the manual dual zone in my 04 and 06. i would like to find digital. and also the 06 rear view mirror doesnot have the temp/compass. if i got one would it be plug and play

Forget about adding the automatic/digital climate controls....Its not a "plug-n-play" install at all,you need a-lot more.....sensors,actuators,aspirator,wiring harnesses,and reprogramming if you can even get a dealer to try and reprogram the truck.

 

The mirror is a little easier and can be added,although its not exactly a "plug-n-play" install,you will need to add an outside temp. sensor and run wiring from that to the mirror itself,check out here for complete mirror kits....MITO CORP.

Well,I'm not saying you can't add it at all,Just depends on how much money,time,know-how,and patience you have,but if you must....I would find a truck in a salvage yard that has it and get everything from it.

Besides,I had the auto/digital control in my '04,and have it in my '07 also,Its not all that great,its too complicated to use while driving (IE-You must take your eyes off the road) I'd rather just have to good ol' three knob HVAC control system.

 

On the mirror,the harness thats there probably doesn't have all the wires necessary to power the temp/comp. display,plus as I mentioned before you also need a temp. sensor that mounts on the radiator support in front of the A/C condenser,You'll also need to hook-up the auto-dim feature as well.

Really? Thats strange,all the mirrors I've seen in the '03-'07 GMT800's either had no comp/temp/auto-dim,or had all three.

I've never seen one that had just the auto-dim feature,and no comp/temp display. Then of course weather or not the truck had On-Star was another feature the mirror would have (IE-It would have the three On-Star buttons)

 

GM started offering the auto-dim feature back in '94 on the GMT400 trucks,and it also contained a compass,but no outside temp. display,that didn't come until the 2000 model-year on the GMT800's.

Oh I know what those wires are for now....the passenger presence sensing system for the passenger side air bag. You know its lets you know whether or not the passenger air bar is on or not (It still shouldn't be an auto-dim mirror though without the comp/temp. display)

I think I can help you....you are looking for an Auto Dim Compass Temperature Mirror with the Passenger Airbag Indicator?

 

Anyway I have a couple out in my garage and would be willing to part with one for say $40 Shipped.

 

These are the Gentex Mirrors which have a 16 PIN Plug on the back....if you already have the mirror you mention you should only need to add the temp wires....since you already have the Power Feature up there for the Current Mirror the Autodim is run on the same power.
