2006 Suburban Headlights

People, we have a 2006 suburban with stock headlights.. Needless to say can't see a thing. YES the lights are aimed correctly but still nothing.

Can anyone recommend an aftermarket or OEM light that would equal the new trucks?

I really can't afford to buy a new burb just for the lights...

if the lenses are fogged, clean or replace the whole housing. then put in some PIAA extreme white bulbs, or some HID's and you'll be more than fine, also add some fog lights if you dont already have some, with upgraded bulbs in them. if you still cant see you could get a small light bar (bull bar) on the front with some much bigger driving lights on it

Assuming you are saying they are not putting off enough light i would suggest some sylvania brand bulbs. I have gotten some a while ago and the light is nice and white, not yellow, and much clearer to see with. Not positive on the specific name of these new bulbs. Also assuming your lenses are clean (you can buy a cleaning/polishing compound which works good) there are always fog lights or HIDs, which someone will have to help you out with because i havent done that.

Trying to understand that you say you cant see a thing? Are the lights dim? Alternator my be on its way out. The headlight lens may be fogged and not clear you should be able to see the bulb by looking through the lens. Hard to say by your post.

The lenses are like new.. I think it is the bulbs.. The alternator is good..As I had that checked.

My mechanic had recommended the new light housings and bulbs.

I had the same issue with my '05 Suburban. When one bulb burned out, I replaced both with Sylvanias. Sylvania has three levels and I bought the ones that were second brightest. They made a huge difference; they were brighter than my high-beams. Only problem was, they didn't last very long. So, after going through a second set, I bought PIAA bulbs. Equally as bright as the Sylvanias, and seem to last longer.

Just an fyi, as one gets older, the light-gathering ability of the eyes diminish. I started noticing that happening when I got into my early '50's. So, I have to compensate wherever I can.
