Ive been reading threads and posts for a week now and have a pretty good idea of where everything is in my truck. I have a 2 channel amp and subs.

Question is where will i want to tap in to get the outputs for my amp(rca inputs only)?

Here is my RPO codes for anyone that can help me decipher the confusion i have from reading all week! www.compnine.com/vid.php?vin=2gtek13y471688672

Cheers,

Marc

on my truck i used the converter box they sell at best buy i think its made by scoche or somthing like that. I think they sell them at wal mart too. Just find your positive and negative wires for your rear left and right speakers behind your radio and tap into them and then plug your RCAs to the box and your good to go. think i paid like $20 for it and sounds great no issues what so ever and im really picky on how my truck sounds.

Can i just tap in under the cup holders? or must i tap in before the Bose amp?

The device is called a line output converter. It converts an amplified signal to a low level output such as RCA. You will need to add this after the Bose amp. If you put it before, the output is already low and you will be trying to convert a low level to a low level which will not work.

There was a thread on there the other day where someone bought a device from PAC that plugged inline with the stock system and added RCA outputs. Search the latest threads in the audio video section or check out PAC's website to see what they have.

The line output converter will be your cheapest option as stated above around $20.

I've got the adapter from PAC for my truck. I haven't fully got everything hooked up yet...still working on it. But my tests showed that it worked GREAT! I can't say if it is hooked up before or after the bose amp. But I did plug it in inside the center console. Just behind the cupholder. I decided here because it would be much easier to run the wires to the amp than from the head unit...plus it would be very crowded behind the head unit. Anyways, I think either place you plug it in is before the bose amp. It looked to me like the only plug coming out of the bose amp was a different type and went to the woofer. Mine seemed to sound great though. More info after I get it fully installed.
