12v Source For Radar Detector?

Hey guys,

I was wondering someone could give me a quick answer to this. I just got my 2010 Chevy Silverado Z-71 in and picked up a Valentine One radar detector. It comes with short but nice hard wire kit. My question is, are their any 12V sources in the overhead panel where the lights are contained? I don't have garage controls so its just the two light buttons.

Thanks,

Chad

The lights should have power source. I had one in my past truck and hooked to the compass and temp power supply in the rear view mirror harness.

+1 :fume: i tried all sorts of spots on mine. the only one i found was the rear view mirror temp and compass. The only fuse for it was under my hood. So i just spliced more wire to the pwr and ran thru the firewall, while putting ground under the dash. A lot of the others like the radio fuse and things you would think would work but they have constant pwr going thru them

+1 For the Invisicord. I have my Passport 8500 hooked up that way. Piece of cake to setup and looks nice and clean.
