2005 Blower Motor Can Catch On Fire ?

Hey i have a 2005 sliverado and replaced resistor becuase it burned out and fixed the problem with the fan not working for heat and ac . I have read on the internet that the whole unit can catch on fire and burn your truck down . What do you guys think i should do . have you read all the complaints? theres people on there that say colorados can drive themselves off the road wtf....ignore it, if it was true there would of been a mass recall

I hear ya man..

I'm waiting for my new resistor on tue.. Hopefully that warm burning smell that i smelled that day was this old resistor . It ran for hours while my truck was off without me knowing it.

I had this problem on my 05 Trailblazer, Dead winter and blower would not shut off even with the engine shut off and keys in my hand, I had to pull the fuse, It cost 245 bucks at dealer for resister, But it fixed the problem,
