Mpg Display On A 07 Silverado Ls?

Is there a way to display my current MPG on a display by pushing a button on the dash??? I would like to see my MPG for long trips. I tried pushing the button on the end of the wiper arm, but nothing happened.

If there is not a display where can I get an inexpensive one that plugs into the OBD port??

do you have the new body style or the classic?

If you have the new then do you have the 4 buttons on top of each other between left air vent and the instrument cluster? If not you just need to buy the DIC and it will plug right up and work..... then you can view all sorts of info

His profile says a GMT800 classic. You would need the steering wheel with buttons, new clockspring/harness, and a dealer willing to go through the trouble of getting the computer calibrated for that option. That is off the top of my head, you might need more parts. If you do a search, you should find several threads on this. I have an 06 without the DIC options and decided to get an Aeroforce Interceptor scan guage that has a instant/averge MPG feature that calculates a MPG based on MAF readings, your VSS speed, ect. It is pretty close to numbers I have crunched using the trip function and gallons used/then refilled. The Aeroforce along with a similiar product the Scanguage II lets you watch the data from your sensors (coolant, transmission, MAF, IAT, fuel gal remaing, vss digital speed, clear and read codes, CASE learn, run fans, ect all through the OBDII port. Probably cheaper and more useful to me.
