Can't Insert Cd

[2004 Silver Canyon]

I have a 2004 Canyon with the 6 CD radio. When I try to insert a CD it feels like the opening is blocked. If I stick a thin blade in the slot I can feel 3 or 4 obstructions. This started after I replaced the battery. I removed the fuse and waited for about 10 minutes for the radio to reset and still can't insert a CD. I believe there is at least 1 CD in the player but I get a message that there are no CD's in the player. I was getting a message "initializing" before I removed the fuse but now there is no message other than there are no CD's. Is this something I can fix or does it need to go to the dealer? There is a car radio repair facility in town also but they are closed for the holidays.

I don't know of anything the dealer can do, other than take it apart and get your cd's out. As far as it not taking cd's it will probably have to be replaced, unless there is an updated program or something for that issue. Best bet would be to check with the dealer.
