Hello From Maine

Hello, new to the forum. Just got my first GM truck (my parents have always had them). Its an 04 sierra denali black on grey leather with quadrasteer and lots of add on old man chrome. Have had it for about a week now and I'm really liking it. Seems the front end is whining a bit which is obnoxious seeing as i just got it but apparently pretty common on these trucks especially with awd .

 

On here to talk about it, learn what i can do to it / what other people have done to them, and share what i have done to mine when i get around to doing anything.

ordered a new head unit and all the associated wiring harnesses today. Got the unit, a bose/on-star integration harness, and a steering wheel control integration harness. Been reading a decent amount on the subject and it should go in to troubles. Well see.

Brought the truck to the dealer, needed the whole front diff redone. ~2k job. 1500 was in parts and 9 of that was a ring and pinion. They let me get an aftermarket R&P and they will do the job and warranty their parts and bearings for 12months/12k miles for 1050, which isn't too too bad, but annoying to have to do within my first month of ownership.

 

haven't had time to do anything with the head unit besides look at it. I'm picking up the physical install kit tomorrow.
