I want to know how to install a rear backup camera (OEM 15173619) in my truck.

I have 2008 GMC Yukon SLT2 with a Bose Sound system and Rear Entertainment System. I just ordered a Navigation System (OEM 15940102) and I will be swapping out the Radio/DVD Unit and replacing it with the new Navigation System/DVD, GPS antenna, VSS Harness. I want to add the rear backup camera, but before I do it I want to know what is involved in doing the install.

 

Do I have to run a line for the video signal from the rear of the car to the Navigation unit or is it possible this wiring is already in place? If so, how would I know?

 

What parts are required for the install besides the Navigation System (15940102), GPS Antenna, Backup Camera (15173619)?

 

I would love to have detailed instructions for the installation. Does anyone have the instructions for this job?
