Snow In The South!

The weather men here (Starkville, MS, where I am for college) have been calling for 3-8" worth of snow. Wal-Mart is cleared out of bread and milk (of course) and the college kids stocked up on booze (I'm kinda shmammered as I type this). Its calling for a low of 8 degrees tonight.... That just doesn't happen in Mississippi. We have a wet, humid kind of cold which is bad.

Whats the weather man calling for snow in other areas of the south?

3-4" of snow in Mid-TN, and the Grocery Stores in Dickson were COMPLETE ZOOS! its like if there is even a PASSING MENTION of Snow in the Forecast, They Panic, Stock up on Milk, Bread, Beer, and Gas, then forget how to drive PROPERLY when the Snow DOES Hit!

Same here in north louisiana, calling for a couple of inches, so everybody RUSHED to the stores and cleaned out all of the bottle water and stuff in a panic.. It's pretty sad really, the forecast is today 30's chance of ice/snow, tomorrow will be clear.. Right now its just raining, so I would be surprised if it snowed at all, and if it actually stuck.

I had to wait in line for 30min yesterday because of these panictards, just for some Tylenol for my sick daughter.

Same here in South Carolina. We are heading to the grocery store after church. Not worried so much about the snow as I am about the ice and lack of preparedness that happens when it snows here. Esp. with the roads and the SCDOT. We don't spread salt when it snows...we spread sand. Amazing.

I find it funny how people get all up in arms about a little bit of snow. You'd think it's a state of emergency the way people go and by water/food and other supplies. :(

You wouldn't be saying that if you had to go a week without any running water, electricity, or heat. SC got hit with a really bad ice storm a couple years ago and it really messed everything up.

In parts of TX today and tomorrow they are calling for a CHANCE of snow. The low is 29 for the next two nights and the highs are in upper 30's lower 40's. Its been the same around here at grocery stores. People are stupid. The temp has to be below 30 for a while before the snow here will even stick. the worst will be ice and there will be wrecks EVERYWHERE because people in general are dumber than cows :(

i wish i had snow, we have about 8''s in the field. i can't believe everybody rushes to the store for food in 3-8'' of snow. thats nothing if it snows all night it may snow a 12'' and people don't even rush to the stores for food. thats when i go out. i love driving though town in 12'' of snow. i usually always get some sweet money out of it too, pulling all the cars to there houses.

Usually the only thing the stores run out of up here is road salt and snow shovels.
