Lift Questions

I am looking for a lift that will net me around 3 - 4 inches, but I cant afford a true 4" suspension lift. Im a teacher with a new baby so I seriously doubt I will ever have enough displosable money saved to get a 4". So, I thought about a combination of a level and small BL, but then I found a 3" lift from Truxxx. The links to the lifts are below.

I can get either kit for the same price. The Truxxx lift seems a little extreme, but it will allow me to add a brush guard later. The Zone lift seems more practicle and safeer for the front end, but with the BL I could not add a brush guard. Thats really the only reason Im torn. What would you guys do?

Has anyone used the Truxxx lift? what kind of problems have you run into?

I'm not a big fan of the larger torsion keys. You just extending how much you can crank on the bars. It usually leads to abnormal wear to the front suspension. You can easily get 2" out of your stock keys and the body lift will give you the "look" of the lift and get you more room for larger tires. :(

Can you crank your stock keys 2 inches and not have to get shock extensions with stock shocks?

I have my truck leveled right now, but the driver side bolt is tightened all the way. Will this hurt anything, or will the new keys be a waste of money.

I dont know what kind of lift I will need. I guess my truck sits higher than I realize. Im just used to looking at the ground clearance my little S10 ZR2 had.

I guess Im really looking for a stance like my 06 2500LD had. I just cranked the bars on it and got a pretty nice stance.

The 06 was running 245/75/16s and Im already running bigger tires than that now, 265/70/17. I guess Im just looking for something to clear a 285/70/17, or maybe a 33x12.50.

What do you think I need?

What would that look like hanging that much frame underneath? Ive never been a fan of BL because of the exposed frame, but there isnt much else you can do on a IFS truck for cheap.

it would look like a 2500 with an extra inch of frame showing. you can get step/nerf bars and will help hide the frame showing.

I have nerf bars now, and am actually in the process of figuring out how to mount them with the BL on. They are the kind that bolt in between the bottom of the body mount buckets (the part welded to the frame) and the rubber bushing that the bolt tightens against.

I hope someone understood that.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. You're gonna have a bigger gap between the body and the bars. I had some off a tahoe on mine at one time and they mounted to the body, not the frame.
