Yes, but you can usually find one for less, $40 seems a little steep. Can't remember what I paid for mine, but it was under $40 including shipping.

I added the underhood light but I just mounted if on the stud already there for the ground wire on the driver's side. I cut off the MetriPak connector and used a WeatherPak set that I had. Also I found a reel light from a early 90s truck and installed it. I feel better now but it still really bothers me for what you pay for these trucks, the cheap short cuts they take on things you used to get. Next is some courtesy lights (footwell lights).

For the record:

My 01 Burb had the underhood light. Didn't work. I refreshed the underhood wiring, no joy. Unclipped the light took it home and opened it. There is no mercury, there is a piece of solid metal designed to rock back and forth and make the connection just as a mercury rocker would.

I got a NIB OEM GM light for either $8 or $13 from ebay. Too long ago to tell you who. Get the part number and search that. Anybody wants to buy my old one (and I'll tell you I couldn't fix it, but then again I ain't that bright), $10 & shipping. No - $10 shipped. LOL if you haven't the harness that will cost you more. Wish I could tell you where I googled this all up, but it's out there.

Oh and that pat is not it. It comes in a nice little square gray plastic sealed box housing. Busy now or would google it for you. If anyone wants I'll dig up the box and post photos, p/n later.

This might not help too much, but here's the light attached to the hood with the wiring run around over to the fuse box (after adding an in-line fuse holder in the hot line) and connected to the terminal that the trailer harness hot wire lug goes on:
