New 2011 Chevy

I finally took delivery of the 2011 Silverado. It rides and handles great, although I will miss the '05 Sierra. I hate that it came with Goodyear Eagle LS2 tires but other than that I'm happy with the purchase. Guess I'll have to change my user name!

Plan to leave as is for now but will get a Blackbear tune after I drive it for a little to make sure it's OK. Already have the AutoCal so shouldn't take too long to get the data and get the tune. Want to make sure there are no factory issues first. Since it was a dealer trade it had 250 miles on it when I picked it up and I didn't drive it too far today.

 

Maybe get a RC 2" leveling kit in a couple of years and some 275/60/20 tires to fill up the wheel well more since the 275/55 look a little short and the 275/60 is close to being a 33" tire.

It came with the 5.3 and 3.42 gears. Drove very good on the way home today. Can't complain. It's not the Z71 but it does have a good suspension even though it's just a 4X4. Only thing it was missing that I didn't have installed at the dealer was the skid plate. That's no big deal to me. The dealer gave me the 6" assist steps for $350 installed, put on the bed rail protectors, wheel locks, window tint, sprayed in bedliner and molded hood protector before I took delivery so I don't have to do it afterwards and only have to pay the Texas state sales tax on those items at 6.25% instead of paying for state, city, MTA taxes @8.25% by buying those items later or getting installation done later. Worked out well.
