Bleeding Abs Brakes Without A Tech 2

Hi. This side of the Altlantic (England) Tech 2 is expensive ($4000-$7000) and even if the workshop has one, the user may not be familiar with American vehicles like my 1998 Sierra

K1500.

I have read how ideally one needs to toggle the ABS unit using a Tech2 to get the air out, or go onto a slippy surface and brake hard so the unit cuts in and the air come out, and using the latter method I have got most of the air out. However some remains.

My question is, that if all you want the Tech 2 ito do is to operate the ABS unit, has no-one come up with a cheat where the application of a few volts in the right place or the shorting of a few pins causes the exact reaction required to get the air out of the ABS unit? If so what is that cheat, 'cos $4000 to get some air out sounds a trifle dear?

I've never heard of somebody using a home made device to cycle it, if you had a pid reader that would do abs, I'm sure you could look the pid command to cycle certain valves. Most people just do like you stated, drive around the yard and slam the brakes a couple times, it generally works.
