Gm Heated Seats

I have installed the GM heated seat kit and they do not work like the directions state. Can someone direct me as to what needs to be programed?

I have installed the kit and the switches light up with the illumination but the heaters do not turn on. After much online searching I find many people have needed to have them programed at the dealer but they dont explain what was done. I called the dealer and they say they have never installed a kit and can not find any information on programing them. Of course I dont want to go to the dealer if they dont know what to do. I was hoping someone here has gone through this and can shed some light.

If you look towards the end (Page 6) of this thread the method outlined is taking the part number from the module you mounted under the seat and supplying that to the dealership and they can go from there. PjP can explain it better than I can:

That said, I was with the tech and I found the setup in a drop down menu. We basically told the programmer the truck had heated seats, the programmer did its thing, and voila' everything worked.

 

My kit would not even turn the lights on in the switches until it was programmed.
