Wind Noise

Recommended Posts

I've been refraining from posting because it makes me mad. Driving this brand new truck, I can hear a lot of wind noise. It's bad enough at times that I check every window switch to make sure the glass is all the way up. It's a 2010 Sierra.

Has anyone else had any issues with it?

There is a known issue for road noise from the 2010 crewcabs. It originates from the right rear cab vent. It sounds like the passenger rear window is cracked open or door not totally shut. GM put out a tech bulletin back in July of 2010 and has made 4 revisions to it. The latest was issued 11-4-10. I had this bulletin done on my truck.

Hmm ok. I thought it was coming from the windshield. I'm clueless when it comes to where I can find all of the TSB's for this truck. Mind pointing me in the right direction?

From windshield? Hmmm...do u have a bug shield on? They have been known to cause turbulance around the plastic molding that runs down each side of the windshield. Can be fixed with 2 sided 3m.

I have also heard alot about the bug shields causing noise issues. I just take it off if I had one. I have vent shades, new like bug shields though anyway.

Nope, no bug shield on mine.

I'm serious when I say my 2005 Jeep Wrangler that I sold to buy this truck didn't have as much wind noise as this thing.

That sucks. Take it to the dealer, if they had all the TSBs, maybe your truck was built prior to the last one?

My 11 doesn't have what you have.

I get that in my 05 Silverado, had it in my 06 Sierra, and my 01 S10. I always thought it was a GM thing, but my wife's Tahoe doesnt have that problem.

I'm going through the same thing with wind noise coming from the driver side door. They put the two sided tape on the plastic moldings to keep them from flapping and since I've had noise from the B pillar weather strip over bumpy road and wind noise like a window is cracked open. I can feel air coming in at the B pillar at highway speed. I'm taking it to a second dealer to look at this Monday.

My wind noise is from the drivers door. When driving in cold weather there is actually frost on the inner door panel at the leading edge and also at the bottom. Back passenger side door also gets frost at the bottom. I also can't believe that it's HVAC can't keep the back windows frost free. My 2000 was much better in that area.
