I did a search on it and I am pretty sure it is my Switch on the dash going bad but was there a TSB on this?  I thought I read one but can't remember.  Just wanted to have something to take to the dealer because last time it acted up they had "No Problem Found"

i dont recall a tsb on it but my dealer told me it was a very common problem. they fixed it right away...only there maybe 30 minutes or so..

Cool, I'm gonna take mine in this week.  Hopefully, this time they will replace the switch.  I'll let you know how it goes.

I bought my truck used with approx. 28,000 miles on it and had the switch replaced about a month later. So, I'm not sure of the history. But, since I've had it replaced, I use autotrac about once a month (in rain) when I tend to have a heavy foot. :)  No problems since.

I'm sure I'll use it alot more soon in the snow.

:flag:

By the way Ryan. How's the puppy?  :jester:

at partszoneonline.com it is 34.93.  I have just ordered it and a couple of other thing from them and they came in last week.  Have yet to have time to replace it.  I use mine about once a month or so.

Good wearing us all out.  He has alot of energy.  He is very good though and he loves the outdoors

Hes getting bigger too.  He is really wearing out our older dogg (and driving him crazy hehe)

If the switch is only $35 and I owned a truck with a push-button transfer case, I would keep a spare switch with me in the truck.  Better to change out a switch when it goes out then find out it doesn't work when you actually need it.  And we all know it is going to go out quite often, seeing as how that is one of the most common warrenty items on GM trucks.  But just wait until something more serious goes wrong with the t-case (and it is bound to happen), sure isn't going to seem like such a great option to have then.   $$$

Just in case you couldn't tell, I would never recommend that someone who is physically capable of pulling the 4wd lever buy a truck without one.  Too much can and will go wrong with autocrap.

I agree totally but I coudn't get the options I wanted without the Autotrac.
