3.5" Rc Kit + 1.25 Bl Fit W/34's

I am looking at getting some 285/65R20 ro 275/65R20 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's for my ride. If I use a 3.5" suspension lift with a 1.25" body lift from rough country, will I be able to use this combination? I know I might have some trimming of the plastic, but hopefully not that much. I have stock 20x8.5 wheels. If I use the same wheels, would it work? Would it be better to get custom wheels that have a positive offset? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks

Isn't the 3.5 already a leveling kit and the 1.25" body lift? Either way, DO NOT put that 3" RC lift on your truck. If you do, don't say no one warned you when your front end don't align.

I would say a quality six inch lift. (BDS, Fabtech, ect) People have reported rubbing with 33x12.5's on 4 inch lifts. So for a 34 inch tire, at the very least, a 4" lift and trimming.

3" body lift + 2" leveling kit = best bang for your buck. The aforementioned setup cannot be beat for the money and requires less modification than suspension kits. Now if your not worried about money, then go straight for a well built 6" suspension kit.

Why won't the 3.5" RC lift kit align?? I was unaware of this and had one delivered yesterday!!! Still sitting in the unopened box.

If money isn't an issue, the RC 5". The only thing RC I would pit on my truck is maybe the 2" leveling kit, 1.25" BL, or 5" lift.

What are you trying to say here? Is the RC 5" ok or not?

He is trying to say it's an okay kit. It's the only properly designed suspension system RC makes for the 900's. That 3" thing is total junk though.

I wouldnt worry about the 34s.. They will look kinda wierd anyway if ur talkin only a 275 or even 285 width. I would do a 5 inch lift and 33x12.5s (or equivalent 305/xx/xx tire)

It will look much better, get better traction, and wont mess with the gearing as much. You can get your 5" of lift by 2 ways. Getting a rancho or RC suspension lift, of if u wana do it on the cheap, go with the 2" level kit and the 3" bodylift. Either way will clear the 33x12s nicely.

You can clear the 275/65/20 with a 2.5 leveling kit. Run a 1.5 body lift for even more room.

Width kills these trucks, height is not a big problem on stock wheels.

I have a 4" lift on my truck and I can tell you first hand it works well with a 33" tall tire but I would really think rubbing would be a major issue with a 34 or 35. I know your talking about getting a little higher than 4" but I think 6" is what your going to need to clear a 35. As some have stated if your going to be taller than a 33 I would suggest getting a 12.5 width it may look odd with something narrower.

There is a thread on another forum with tons of pics of a Rough Country 5" set up on different trucks. If costs are a big factor that kits not really expensive.

My advice if you want to run a 34 or 35 inch tire not only to factor in the costs of a lift but to think about what gearing you have in the truck. In some cases you may be fine and others you may not. In my case the 4" BDS system is basically the same costs as the 6" minus the difference in tire size costs. I knew going to a 35" tire would also require a re gear and thats not something I wanted to deal with at this time.

Or this = hell with 34's. 6" BDS with 33's or 5" RC with 33's is the best combo.

Does anyone have the RC 5", if so how is it working for you? I am planning on getting the Rancho 4" but if I can save a little money on the lift maybe I can get another toy!!!!!

I don't have the 5"

I have a CCM 2.5" leveling kit and the Zone 1.5" Body lift for about 4" of lift. It looks great with the 285/60/18 I have now and will still look sharp when I trade up to 285/65/18's soon. It is the cheapest way to get a 4" lift (about $300 all together) and the suspension isn't altered that much. I have had no issues.

I said the RC, because several people on gmfullsize run it and like it. The 3" is shit (ive had experience), and the RC 7.5" is the same as the RC 5" (same differential drop) with a bigger massive 7.5" spacer in back and a massive rough riding 6" lift block in the rear (which can be fix with some add-a leafs), and the 5" is what a lot of people like. Then they add the Zone 1.5" BL for a 6.5" lift. Looks great.
