2006 Silverado Remote Start

I would like to put a factory remote start system in my 2006 Silverado Crew Cab (an after-market would give me a second key fob). The dealer tells me that they don't show a system available for that year. Would a 2007 system work in my vehicle?? Thanks in advance.

I maybe wrong but I don't think the factory remote start came into play until The GMT-900's (07+). A good remote start installer will interface with your factory alarm and you will only need one remote. That is how my 00 was setup.

I have an aftermarket Viper remote start in my 2006 1500HD it has been in for 4.25 years with out a single problem. I jsut use the Viper key FOB as it interfaces with everything and the range is great. I got the remote with the lcd so I can see that the truck is on. I turn it on from my office building so its warm when I walk out to the parking deck.

I have an aftermarket Viper remote start in my 2006 1500HD it has been in for 4.25 years with out a single problem. I jsut use the Viper key FOB as it interfaces with everything and the range is great. I got the remote with the lcd so I can see that the truck is on. I'll one up ya.. I had a viper remote start in an 01 S10 for 3 years, then in an 03 Silverado for 5 years and never had an issue. It had awesome range and never let me down. The factory remote doesn't have anywhere near the range. I did get the 2-way remote with my 11, and so far I really like it, but that won't work on your truck. I highly recommend the Viper remote start.
