Door Ajar Alarm

A pulled the door ajar alarm module from under the dash of my dump truck. I have the driver door panel off and the bare metal door does not reach the door jamb switch to shut off the overhead light or the alarm tone. My question is; does this module serve any other function? It has multiple pins so I figure it must do something else.

I dont know if this helps, but I just had my door lock actuator replaced on the pass side due to door ajar alarm. I think the switch that tells that the door is closed is in the door lock actuator. My truck doesnt have any other pins in the jams.

I dont know if this helps, but I just had my door lock actuator replaced on the pass side due to door ajar alarm. I think the switch that tells that the door is closed is in the door lock actuator. My truck doesnt have any other pins in the jams.

The pins I refer to are on the sounder module itself. It's a black box approx 3"X3". My door jamb switch is new and works as designed when the door panel is in place but since I have it off the door doesn't reach the switch so the alarm continues to sound. That is why I pulled the alarm module. I just wonder if I disabled anything else by doing so.
