Exhaust Pipe Diameter

I want to change my muffler for a flowmaster super 40 but I cannot find the diameter of the stock exhaust pipe on 2011 Sierra 4.8L, does somebody here know that??

ohh and I got another question, since the stock muffler is longer, can I just put clips on the pipes or I have to weld it??

If it is indeed longer you can just clamp it in. Which size muffler are you looking at, because most aftermarket mufflers are going to be considerably shorter than the stock muffler.

I mean the factory muffler is longer, i'm looking to put a flowmaster super 40

just going to throw this out there, but with the few exhaust systems i have put on, they send 3" ID to go over the stock exhaust. 2 1/2"OD fits inside OEM but clamps have a hard time clamping down on the oem exhaust. it can be done though
