Bds 6" Or Fabtech 6"

I'm planning to lift my 2010 GMC 1500 SLT Sierra but its really difficult to decide;

I'll be doing a lot of extreme off roading as well as highway driving SO what do you guys prefer the BDS or the FabTech 6" ?

what about the shocks? any recommendations ?

Will either one will affect or disable the Traction & Stab Control?

fabtech will sit higher, usually closer to an 8 inch lift, and you can still run a small spacer ontop of that. bds is maxed out at 6.5. both are great kits. i prefer the bds because of the new strut over the fabtechs base model that has a weird bracket system to extend the strut. if you're lookin for more height then do the fabtech. if you want an extremely good warrenty and a very good kit. bds.

Fabtech will net more lift and achieve flatter angles. BDS is far from maxed out, but will not achieve flat angles with a lift thats closer to 7". BDS will give better ground clearance at the crossmember and ride smoother. You could also expect a better turning radius. BDS also has a no questions asked warranty. You break it...they send you a new part for freeeeeeeee. Either kit is great.

That is very true Blackout, my turning radius, especially to the right, is not as sharp with the fabtech. I live out in the country so it hasnt been a real issue for me.

I think I'm going with the BDS ! what about the traction & stab Control ? will they be affected ?

sorry for the dumb Question but this is my time to lift !

no they wont be affected you should be fine. i notice if i corner very quickly it is more likely to turn on and show the warning light however i'm probably cornering faster than i should be in a lifted truck

blackout pretty much hit the nail on the head. BDS is lower and has harsher CV angles, but rides better and turns tighter.

The fabtech is higher and angles are flatter so if you want to run a spacer on top of it you can for even more lift, you can get like 9-9.5" vs 7.5 ouf of the BDS..

Depends what your goin for, I went with the fabtech just for the sole reason that its the highest of the usual kits.

6" is more than enough for me + ".....rides better and turns tighter"

BDS its ! :thumbs:

will you suggest to install FOX shocks over BDS own shocks? the truck will mainly be used in sand environments, so speed + rough terrain?

Both are great kits. I went with the Fabtech to get that little extra lift and flatter angles. I also did not like the way Fabtech added strut extensions so I added some Bilstein 7-9" adj struts. I am pretty abusive and never had a problem.
