I'm thinking ive asked this before but can't find it. Looking for an aftermarket trans pan. Im wanting one with a drain plug for I have destroyed mine trying to get it off. Wanting to try to keep it around 100 bucks. I assume I have the deep pan now but not totaly positive about that. Anyone changed theirs out before for this reason? Any suggestions on where to buy ans which one? I did purchase a dorman with a drain plug a yearor so ago and they assured me it would fit ,well it didnt. One of the corners was indented and it hit the filter. I also assume its the 4L60E.

Thanks in advance.

The plug on these is notorious for being stuck. Couldn't get mine off of a 2000 Z71 with an impact. Just drop the pan. You don't have to remove it that often. If you really want a drain plug, check the parts stores for an add on plug. You have to remove the pan, drill a hole and install it.

Which Dorman # did you buy? 265-811 fits every 60E I've put it on. The corner doesn't hit the filter, it barely hits the bracket that stops the dipstick from being shoved too deep into the pan. Just remove that bracket. the shallow corner of the pan takes the place of that bracket

Yes sir. That was the one. My mechanic claims he tried and tried but just couldnt get it to go and gave me that reason. Pisses me off because I sent it back and they charged me a huge restock fee. Go figure. My luck. So you say that pan will fit for sure?

I've installed 4 of them over the last 2 years. 2 on my vehicles, 2 on friends vehicles. Unless your trans is different in some way that I'm unfamiliar with, it should work. The bracket is held on by one bolt.
