Need Help With Lift

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD and am wanting to put a 6" lift on it, where i can run 35s or 33s. Does anyone have any opinions on lifts or sites to go to? I'm not quite sure which brands or anything is the best. Also, if anyone has input with tires, that would also be greatly appreciated. I won't be using them for much off-roading, but there are times that I do need to work in the mud and what not. If you have any other input that I might need to know please list it. Thanks!

Hi Phil,

I have a 2011 Silvardo 1500 and wanted to lift it since the day I rolled off the lot with it. After a lot of research and advice from people on the forum, I decided to go with a BDS 6 inch suspension lift with 33x12.50 R20 Pro Comp Extreme A/T's with 20x10 Rockstar wheels. Originally when I want to the 4x4 shop, I wanted to run 35 inch tires. The only problem was that if I ran the 35's the shop would have to do a lot of trimming off the vehicle to accommodate the larger tires. I personally did not want to have my truck cut up just to run the 35's. After calling BDS directly, they informed me that running the 33's would be the better option. I also went with BDS because of there life time warranty. If any part of the lift breaks they replace it for free no questions asked. I would also look into the Fabtech lift also. Fabtech is a little bit more expensive but gives you a little bit more of a lift according to guys on the forum. Your best bet is to do your research and ask questions on the site. Best of luck and I'm pretty sure your 2500 will look like a beast if you go with a 6 inch lift. Good luck

That would be awesome, do you remember how much that ended up costing? I am getting back $3500 for my tax refund and am basically making a mini wish/to do list. If you have any other ideas just let me know!

you can fit 35's on that truck stock with cranking, with a 6" lift you could clear 37's, so i would definitely go NO smaller than 35's. i would look into the cognito 4-6" kit

$5700.. holy crap, I have just over 4000 in mine. i run 35's with a 0 offset rim and no rubbing and no triming. I reused the TPMs and didn't have the taxes you did and I got a wheel and tire package for 1900.. guess its what kit and a lot of searching for deals.

Holy crap is right man, I almost had a stroke when i saw the price tag but his shop is the only shop in all of buffalo that does suspension lifts. The most expensive part of the project where the rims and tires. I tried looking online to compare prices and they where pretty much even. I guess it sounds expensive but what can I say I have expensive taste when it comes to these things......lol. I cant believe you had all that work done on your truck for under $4,000.00 wow. I guess it's done and over with but at lease I can say I did my research before hand and I cant wait to get my truck.

Yeah I cant wait, I'm a little nervous though. I just hope that the ride quality is still there and I didnt make a huge mistake on a brand new truck. However this has been my plan for awhile. The local chevy dealership in town had two lifted 1500's for sale done by rocky ridge customs and they wanted 62,000 for them. I laughed when they told me the price it was 16,000 in extras for a 6 inch pro comp lift, 35x12.50 R20 tires, speedo calibrated, and fender flares. i figured for around 5-6 grand I can make mine look better. After seeing all the pics on here I couldnt wait to get my truck done. I am scheduled to pick my truck up on thursday 17th. I will post my pics asap.

Can I ask where you got your lift from? ... thats a super price!

I purchased my lift from Jim Dean's Off Road Center in Elma NY. The reason why the lift was that price is because he is a authorized BDS Dealer. I think he gtes the lifts wholesale from BDS. Like I said the most expensive part of the project where the wheels and tires.

That's how much I paid for mine also. Ordered it from All Terrain Fabrications in Texas. Plus $200.00 more for the stainless brake lines and gas shocks.

Brad, are those 33 inch tires on your truck they look great ? Also I am looking to get the same Nerf bars as the ones you got on your ride are those N Fab or Iron Cross ? And where is a good place online to get some good Nerf Bars ?
