How big is too big?

I'm in the research phase of getting some new tires for my S-10(see sig). I've seen many people say the biggest you can go is 30x9.5 what is the largest metric tire you can get to fit?

 

Will 255/75-15's fit?

 

Any tire recomendations. I don't go offroad much but occasionialy I will. Just want something bigger to fill the wheel well beter than the 235/75's that came stock

I dunno about metric sizes, but I went through the same thing as you.

 

I tested the 31's and they looked awesome, but would rub in the front.  Settled for the 30's.  If I had to do I again I would have looked to get a lift first.  Unfortunately money doesn't always allow.

My '02 Sonoma Crew also came with 235.75.15's, but I replaced them with some 255.55.18's (about 29 inches).  30 inches tall and 10.5 inches wide are considered the max on stock, 4wd s-series trucks.  So, 255.75.15, which are 30 inches tall, should fit fine.  I have no lock to lock rubbing with my 255's, so the width should not be a problem.  I do have Husky mud guards on the front and, because of the way the guards are shaped, there is not a lot of room between the guards and tire.  I hope to go to 30's next time, but will have to do some very careful measuring to clear the guards.  Stock truck without mud guards should be no problem.  FYI: 265.70.15 tires are about 29.6 inches tall.

I've got 31/10.5/15's on my 98 Blazer.

No lift - No rubbing.

All I had to do was shave a little bit off the rear of the front wheel wells, then fill it and cover it with the stock silver fender flares.

Anyone can do it.......I'm not a body man.  It took me about 4 hours.  It would have taken less time but I wanted to be really carefull as that I was nervous about cutting the body.

If I had to do it again - I'm sure I could do it in less than an hour.
