Add A Leaf General Springs?

Recommended Posts

Have 1.5 leveling kit in front, and when I hause stuff, I squat low in back. The add a leaf from General Springs out in kanas city look nice but they offfer 4 different spring rates.

I want no mor than 1.5 lift in back and to increase payload in back. Any of you have done this add a leaf yet. Its a full lenth kit so its nice. Just don't want it jacked up alot in raer and look stupid.

I would just buy a rancho, fabtech, or superlift add a leaf they say it lifts the truck 1 to 1.5"

As I have considered the same product, I wrote them to ask a few questions. Here it is:

I am writing to ask about an “add a leaf” for the GMT900 truck platform. On your site (GM Add-a-leafs), you show four (4) long springs and one (1) short spring. The spring capacity is listed for each. A few questions:

1. Is the capacity “per spring” or “total”.

A. Capacity is total

2. Do you have estimates of lift height vs spring rate?

A. Lift varies depending on capacity. The lowest capacity will lift around 1.5" and the highest capacity will lift around 3"

3. You list these through 2010, but do they fit 2011 also?

A. They do fit the 2011

4. What is the benefit of the long vs short leaf, and is installation easier/hard for one over the other?

A. Long add a leaf rides better and comes with tip inserts. Short add a leaf is easier to install.
