2011 2-way Advanced Remote Start

I have a 2011 GMC Sierra, I wanted to get the 2-Way Advanced Remote Start but apparently it isnt available for some reason, the dealership said that it is one hold for now but didn't know why, I searched the forums and basically came up with the same answers. If I had an iPhone or droid I would be set with the onstar app but being a blackberry person no such luck.

I have one  Dealer installed option only... but it's available.

When did you get it done? Apparently you could get it until Decemberish, the parts guy said I was two months late, got my truck end of Jan.

I gave up waiting on GM and got aftermarket..... Couldn't be happier the range is much better, DEI's "Smart Start" starts from the phone, it's a nice unit Clifford 20.7x

i bought one. took it to the dealer and said theres other things that were needed for it to work in my truck. they said its an extra box and antenna and stuff. weird. i thought it would work since it says that it works with

2-Way Advanced Remote Start - For Use on Vehicles with Remote Keyless Entry and Engine Start (AP3) Requires Dealer Programming

so either my truck was missing something or my small town dealership is plain dumb

I almost seems like I am better off just buying an iPhone and using the app I guess, better range, might be a little crazy to buy a second fone just for the truck though

yeah. but think about it. you have to spend that 200 for the remote which i just bought and have no use for. then you have to pay for them to install it. which cost another 100-200 bucks.

Yeah not much worse, just dont want to give up my blackberry, I wish GM would have made a blackberry version but apparently that isnt happening anytime soon, I just spoke with a friend who works for a cell company and I can get blackberry service from them on pay as you go and just put on iPhone on my contract so when the iPhone 5 comes out I will be one of those idiots with two phones haha Maybe GM will jsut give up a blackberry app before then though if I am lucky

I have a 2011 Silverado and it works just fine. I just bought the part for mine (which only had AP8) from GMpartsdirect.com and had my local dealer hook it up. Took a couple hours but they didn't say anything about any issues with the 2011s. On gmpartsdirect.com though I did have to look up a 2010 or 2009 silverado for it to offer me the 2 way remote start. It didn't have it listed under the 2011 model year, not sure why but it definitely still worked.

No, only some 2010 and most of the 2011's have that feature thru onstar.

hmm. was that a kit? or was that just a remote that you bought?

my dealer said i need more stuff in order for it to work. like its supposed to have a "kit" that makes it all work.
