Converting Push Button 4wd To Manual Shifter?

Hey guys was thinking about switching from my push button to manual shifter for 4x4 in my truck. What would be all needed besides the different transfer case, shifter and console, and shifter link.

I'm also interested in this but never really looked into it. Has anyone ever done it before? I'd love to do this and switch to manual locking hubs.

My 4 Low does not work, 4 hi works sometimes. I have to use auto 4 to get unstuck. Would rather have something not electronic so there is 1 less thing not to go wrong. Last 2 weeks at work 3 chevy trucks have came in stuck in four wheel drive, just doesnt seem reliable to me.

Not only would you need a new tc, and all that goes with, but you'd need the manual computer box. To lock the front axle, I believe.

he would need the transfer case, make sure the driveshaft is the same (I think they are, but double check), obvious hardware for the shift lever, the BCM from a truck with a manual transfer case to get rid of any error codes that may arise.

 

As for locking the front axle, that could easily be done with a switch, either automatically with the switch rigged on the shift linkage or manually (I've seen this done to keep the front axle from locking to achieve "2Lo")

i've been through this problem. My understanding is either option of the dash mounted switch or manual floor lever passes through an electric actuator. i'v had the four wheel drive go out on "manual" engage chevy's and push button trucks. once on the lever because the wiring harness came unplugged from the transfer case. best advice is to check harness/ actuator/ 4wd button assembly.

you are barking mad not to have it fixed BY GETTING IT SCANNED before doing a mod like that ,the cost will quickly bring your head back around to reality so this is all crap IMHO
