where can I find one?

some smuck hit several cars in the parking lot at work and siphoned fuel out of them. including mine.. I had 1/2 a tank now I have a low fuel light on..

only ones I see online that are black are for Silverado's (will they fit?) only thing I find for the GMT-900 Avalanche is Chrome (yuck)..

any help would be great, else I'm going to have to figure out a way to drill a hole in the OEM one and put some kind of desk drawer lock in it..

What about a locking cap?

can't find one of those either cause of the stupid E-85 cap on the truck. called my dealer and he said they have factory key'd ones (uses the truck key) but not for a 2010 Avalanche.. :P

They cost $5 @ wal-mart for 2 of them. Simple, permanent installation, doesn't affect filling up, adding fuel additives, or cause any other problems. Won't rust because of the steel it is made out of. A great problem free alternative to locking gas caps IMO.

Your lucky that's all they're doing where you are. Here in "THE BIG CITY" the bastards just drill a hole in your fuel tank, take what they can handle in a 5 gallon gas jug and let the rest flow down the street....+ now you tank is thrashed. If they really want it, they are going to get it.

As you can see in my pic I have the black locking fuel door you were asking about. I got it more for looks, but it does add a slight bit of security, more so than just no lock. Here's the link to where I got mine.

well I guess we were all lucky..

the Sheriff found something like this in the bushes, with the handle broke, which is probably why they stopped:

look like they got 4 of 30 people from my office (all big trucks, 1 Burb, My AV, a 4-Runner, and a Titan)

and they hit a lot of the county vehicles, most were the fire/hazmat/terrorist response team Burbs and Full Size GMC's, they have them of video from the ATF building cameras, looks like they were filling one of those mobile detailing water basin trailers:

be interesting to find out if it was one of the mobile detailers that work the business park and detail the county vehicles, seeing as it has been raining for the past several days they can't work, so I guess they found a side business.

I thought most newer vehicles had some sort of anti-siphoning device in the tank or filler neck. I guess GM doesn't do that.
