So I'm heading out to work this morning and notice my voltage needle doing a little dance up and down so I stop at O'reily's and they hook up the hand held to see what's up. Original battery checks out fine, alternator appears O.K., so I get home at lunch and hook up the battery to my trickle charger to see if it's run down at all and it doesn't take a charge, shows as fully charged.Belts and pulleys all clean and moving freely.............where to go from here? Thanks, it's a 2005 with 63K miles.

Probably the stepper motor going bad...the 05s are notorious for the stepper motors in the instrument panel going bad. It's just a matter of time until the rest of the gauges, speedometer, and odometer start wigging out. Costs about $100 to have someone fix it (replace all stepper motors) or, if you can solder, you can replace all stepper motors in the IP for around $50.
