Woops sorry didn't see it elsewhere, must not of looked hard enough!

That's ok...seeing GM whoop Ford's ass out of the park is un-repostable. (<-- technical internet term)

From the article:

"We wanted to get away from spec-sheet comparisons and show how these trucks perform in the real world,"

That's good...because that is all Ford has...looking good on paper. Their trucks NEVER live up to Ford's dishonest hype in the real world.

And how hypocritical is Ford to thump their chests about having a fully boxed frame under the F-150...but yet the so-called "Super Duty" has a C-channel frame???

One thing that does bother me is that they have a couple acceleration tests, and I didn't hear any mention of rear gears. THAT is disappointing and a clear oversight on GM's part.

I'd hope that the testing agency would ensure that gear ratios were the same, or as close as possible, but one never knows. I am curious as to why the Ram didn't appear in some of the tests though. Makes me wonder if the Ram did better in things like the frame test. It is odd that Ford didn't box these frames though I agree. And whoever signed off on those dually fenders needs to be beaten with one. :uhoh:

One other thing that did stick out to me was the loaded braking- the fact that the Chevy experienced little to no fade is impressive as hell, no doubt. But the way they acted like the Ford gaining 70 something feet being a huge deal seems a bit silly- all the major automotive magazines have done articles on brake fade (granted it's with cars) and even with some vehicles that are supposed to be track ready, brake fade is a huge issue (Car and Driver wrecked a Z-car because of this) once brakes get hot.

If, and i mean a big "if", the Ram won the tests that they did not show it in, it will be a huge competitor once the new Cummins hits the market. Should make things interesting.

It is still nice to see GM outperforming Ford. I wish more people would realize the lies Ford has been telling its customers and they would realize the GM is a better machine.(At least at this time)

If it had been anyone but Ford, I'd agree. Ford has been talking serious *trash* lately in their self-sponsored head/head "filmographys", so they deserve every jab they get.

I think 70 feet is quite substantial...and it's not "silly" at all. Brakes should be up to handling the load at ALL times...and the Super Dutys brakes, like so many other Ford products, are not up to the task.

GM did a hell of a job making the brakes fade resistant but there is no debating that they're using those videos to sell trucks to idiots who don't realize how common brake fade is. Brakes won't work that well at all times and I'm willig to bet the Chevy would experience the same soon enough too. All these videos do is give the fanboys another chance to slam their brand of choice. If this company really did do all tests 24 times then I would love to see the data from all the runs to ensure Chevy is being honest.

And other companies don't do this? I would say Ford is the worst at it and ya gotta give GM props for using a third party to do the testing.

They do all do the same thing, but I find it amusing that it's somehow ok for GM to do it when plenty of the same people would/have bashed Ford for their test videos. And like I said, until that company posts all the numbers, I'll hold my final judgment.

the difference is that ford did the test on their own, by themselves. the rumble in the rockies was done by PUTC and this one was performed by AMCI- third parties with no interest in who wins or loses.

and im assuming the ram wasnt included in some tests because of the 3,000 lb payload that was used in the trucks- thats less than 50% of the silvy & super dutys rated payload maxes. the dodge is only rated for 5200 lbs max. could be the reasoning- i would still like to see it too though. the 3/4 tons the ram is only rated at 2580 lbs max, the silvy is 4120. the ram would have been overloaded with a 3,000 lb load.

Really dude?

You think AMCI is going to put their 30 year reputation in the industry on the line for something so petty?

The difference, as explained before, is that Ford's videos are done by Ford...with ZERO accountability for any of the variables that Ford has been known to exploit. I bet Ford put weight in the Silverado HD just to make it lose. Why do you think GM hammered home the point that this is UNBIASED results.

Really. The Ram magically was left out from the video and though part me wants to say it's just because they wanted to keep the videos to a certain time but who knows for sure? I don't and nor do you or anyone else who wasn't part of the testing at this point.

The Dodge was left out because it is an INFERIOR truck, period. Look at the numbers for payload and trailer capacities. The current offerings by GM and Ford cold squash the Dodge, hardcore, game over, bub bye.

I hear Dodge has something in the works to compete with the current offerings by GM and Ford but until then, it gets left to play with the 1/2 ton trucks.

The testing was done by an unbiased, third party company. Even though I am born and bred GM, if the test results went the other way, I would accept them all the same.
