My New Silverado

From 1989 to 2002, I drove a burgandy-colored 4x4 GMC Sierra with a regular cab and short bed (along with a Warn winch on the front). From 2003 to early 2011, I drove a Dodge Durango. While the Durango is a solid SUV, I really missed my old truck.

About a month ago I was forced to buy a new vehicle after my wife's car was totaled. So we decided to get another truck. I came close to pulling the trigger on a 4x4 Sierra crew cab, but we made one last visit to the Chevy dealership "just to make sure" the Sierra was what we wanted.

Well, the Chevy dealership had what we were looking for, and gave us a slightly better deal on a black 4x4 Silverado (5.3 liter) crew cab.

The whole family has been very impressed with the new truck. My wife can hardly believe how much she enjoys driving a truck. And my young daughters love "Daddy's truck" and all room we have in the backseat compared to the Durango. Compared to my old Sierra, it really has a smooth ride. I haven't used 4WD yet, but we are planning a visit to my friend's swamp house soon, where there are plenty of muddy roads.

Yeah, I don't miss the Durango at all. My wife drives it now, but manages to "borrow" the truck every morning to take the kids to school before I have to leave for work.

I'm from SC. We don't have anything like the bayou, but we've got some decent swamps around here. My friend's place is near the Congaree National Park.

this is the before photo. ill have my leveling kit and body lift soon as possible! And yeah my wife loves the new truck as well but im a little luckier in the sence that she is intimidated driving big trucks so yay for me, and the life of my truck!!!
