Need A New Carpet Cleaner

Recommended Posts

I need to find a new carpet cleaner. I was detailing the car this weekend and tried to clean the carpet with no real luck. It removed some of the loose dirt and lighter stains but it didn't touch anything else.

What other good upholstery/carpet cleaners are out there?

It is the light tan interior too.

get a steam cleaner. when i do carpets i get a warm bucket of water and mix it with purple power and spread it around with a wash cloth. then use the steamer to steam and suck up the juice. gets almost anything out.

One thing I've used many times is brake cleaner, especially on light carpet stains. Soak it in and use a small brush to lift stain, then rub out with an old towel.

Try Folex stain and spot remover. I use it on my vehicle carpets, Bass boat carpet to remove mud and blood stains and around the house with our new puppy. I have never had a stain it wouldn't remove. You can get it at Lowes and I believe Walmart. You can read all of the rave reviews here. It almost has a cult following. http://www.amazon.com/Folex-Carpet-Cleaner...8047&sr=8-1

I've used Orange degreaser for years, works ok. When I bought the truck I am driving now the carpet was badly stained with ground in mud and some grease spots that the orange cleaner wouldn't touch. I accidentally grabbed the wrong spray bottle and soaked a couple grease stains on the trans hump with aluminum wheel cleaner, was scrubbing away with a brush being amazed at how easy the grease and mud was coming out when I realized what I was using. I was like "OH S**T just ruined the carpet" grabbed my garden hose and started spraying it out. After discovering that the wheel cleaner didn't hurt the carpet at all, I soaked the whole thing in the stuff, and rinsed it out, cleaned it up very well. 4 months later and the carpet still looks good. I just did it in small sections, and rinsed right away, I wouldn't advise leaving the wheel cleaner on there for too long, and be careful with the rinse, don't get any electronics wet.
