Been really working on getting our backyard in shape. When we moved in it was nothing but a little deck and a lot of grass. Had the fence installed in 2009, did the patio myself in 2010, and this year I'm building a Pergola over the patio. Fun stuff.

I see you like shopping at Menards too. I spend way to much money there.

 

This is what we had put in last summer (pool). I built the deck and had a friend do the concrete landscaping around it. Cant wait to open it this yr. The grass looks much better now that pic was after 3 months or so of no rain

yeah we spend alot at Menard's, they just opened one 2 years ago in our area of OH, I think it's their eastern-most store. we got the pergola kit there. had to borrow my Uncle's 2500HD longbed to pick it up. even in the longbed with the tailgate down the crate hung off the back by about 2'.

Thanks guys. Believe it or not, that was the first and only patio I've ever installed. Same with the Pergola.

 

I learn much of what I know from watching videos on YouTube. The series of DIY videos that Lowe's puts out there were especially helpful when I did the patio. I must have watched those videos 50 times over the course of the project to make sure I was doing it right.

Is that a septic or sewer pipe vent in the middle of the patio? That would annoy me if whoever built the house stuck that there....

no it's the water well. have to build something decorative around it to hide it, like a stone table or something.

Awesome work....wish I had the time and the $$$ to do the same....got a 1 acre yard that is screaming to be dressed up
