Cam Upgrades?

I am trying to find a decent cam upgrade throughout all the muck on the internet and I am at a standstill.....I really just want a few answers to my questions:

1. What is the highest lift i can go with a stock setup?

2. What would be best all around for a daily driver setup?

3. best place to look for?

 

I don't mind switching out all the stock springs and so forth to get the best all around but i don't want to dump 2000 bucks into something and find out its crap! Any helpwould be great!

it all depends.

 

you need to decide exactly what it is you want to do with the truck.

do you want it to sound choppy?

do you want it to run strong?

do you tow with the truck or do you want a drag strip truck?

do you plan on adding a higher stall converter?

what are you looking to add for supporting mods?

 

you will need the cam, springs that correspond to the lift of the cam and hardened pushrods are always a good idea.
