Just Got A 2011 Avalanche

We decided to trade my wife's 08 Acadia for a 2011 Avalanche LT. Picked it up a couple days ago.

Originally, I wanted a white truck but the wife was set on getting silver so we could have the body colour components. After seeing it in person, I'm glad she won that debate

 

So far I've debadged the truck and painted the bowtie on the grille black, I have a silver overlay coming for the bowtie (the black border will remain). The Chevy mesh grille is on order as well as a 2" level kit Also added weathertech floorliners and window tint tomorrow...

Will have to make a decision on exhaust. Thinking I want something that sounds like a V8 but not obnoxious. My G8 has Kooks longtubes with a full Kooks X pipe/axleback and is really loud - people can hear me coming blocks away. It's cool but gets the wrong kind of attention sometimes...

be aware that with the 5.3L and the AFM some exhausts will cause a droning sound when the AFM kicks in, so shop based on that, else the wife is gonna b*tch about it (trust me).. and the drone might even give you a headache too.

good looking rig! i have a flowmaster 40 and the afm drone is only noticeable at lower speeds but you also might not want something that loud for you wife.

Thanks...I know the G8 guys have similar problems with drone if the AFM is in place (which is why I was forced to do a cam swap & ditch the AFM:)

Nice rig, I went with the Corsa side discharge exhaust on my GMC 5.3. The drone is almost non-existent except in V4 mode which I'm gonna have taken care of shortly w/a custom tune. I highly recommend Corsa.

Beautiful! I wasnt much for the older generation Avalanches, but the new ones are awesome. I hope to get one or a Sierra when i turn 18. Congrats!

i've got an 18" Magnaflow 3" single in/dual out(3") and it barely is noticable at cruise. It sounds good and throaty on accelleration and very little noise at idle. Overall i love it ;)
